The Printmaking Department operated in a historic building located in the city center between 2005 and 2020, and since 2020 it has continued its educational activities in its new facility on the Çağış Campus. Students are admitted to the Printmaking Department following the centralized examination conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Türkiye, and the Special Talent Examination administered by the Faculty. Students who successfully complete the four-year undergraduate program are awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Printmaking.
The department aims to reveal the creative potential of individuals within the framework of their own unique artistic identity, aligned with contemporary art principles. It provides an education that equips students with artistic culture, visual thinking skills, original modes of expression, and technical mastery. Offering a broad spectrum from traditional printmaking techniques to digital applications, the department strives to educate artist candidates who are competent both technically and conceptually.
Graduates may pursue careers as freelance artists, designers, art consultants, art directors in public and private institutions, or as academic researchers in higher education and artistic research environments. Additionally, they may continue their academic development through master’s and doctoral programs.
The Printmaking Department views art both as a vital component of cultural heritage and as a productive field of contemporary thought, committing itself to cultivating innovative, analytical, and socially sensitive artists.
