Head of the Printmaking Department Assoc. Prof. Burçak Balamber’s “Geometry of Memory” Exhibition Meets Art Lovers
Head of the Printmaking Department Assoc. Prof. Burçak Balamber’s solo exhibition, “Geometry of Memory,” opened to art lovers on June 16, 2026, at the Balıkesir University Faculty of Fine Arts Art Gallery. Open to visitors until July 1, 2026, the exhibition consists of printmaking works that reinterpret Balıkesir’s cultural memory through contemporary production techniques.
The exhibition features works inspired by traditional motifs unique to Balıkesir, particularly the visual elements of Yağcıbedir carpets. Forms and motifs rooted in traditional culture are reinterpreted through the possibilities offered by 3D printing and laser engraving technologies, transforming them into a contemporary visual language.
Bringing together traces of the past with current production methods, “Geometry of Memory” focuses on the transformation of cultural memory within contemporary art practices and invites viewers to reflect on the concepts of visual memory, cultural transmission, and continuity.
