3D→2D Printmaking Exhibition Meets Art Enthusiasts

A printmaking exhibition titled “3D→2D” by Dr. İbrahim Korkmaz, a faculty member in the Department of Printmaking, opened to art enthusiasts on August 17, 2026, at the Taş Gallery of Balıkesir University Faculty of Fine Arts. Open to visitors until August 31, 2026, the exhibition focuses on the relationship between three-dimensional production technologies and traditional printmaking methods.

The exhibition features works created by integrating printing matrices produced using 3D printing technology with traditional printmaking processes. The production process, extending from digital design to physical matrices and from these matrices to two-dimensional prints, explores new relationships that contemporary technologies can establish with traditional artistic practices. “3D→2D” aims to introduce audiences to the creative and experimental possibilities offered by technological production tools within the field of printmaking.
